What are patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets?

Patents …
provide exclusive rights to make, use, import, sell and offer for sale the invention for up to 20 years.

Utility patents …
protect useful processes, machines, articles of manufacture, and compositions of matter. Examples: fiber optics, computer hardware, medications.

Design patents …
guard the unauthorized use of new, original, and ornamental designs for articles of manufacture. The look of an athletic shoe, a bicycle helmet, and the Star Wars characters are all protected by design patents.

Plant patents …
are the way we protect invented or discovered, asexually reproduced plant varieties. Hybrid tea roses, Silver Queen corn, Better Boy tomatoes are all types of plant patents.

Trademarks …
protect words, names, symbols, sounds, or colors that distinguish goods and services. Trademarks, unlike patents, can be renewed forever as long as they are being used in business. The roar of the MGM lion, the pink of the insulation made by Owens-Corning (who uses the Pink Panther in advertising by permission from its owner!), and the shape of a Coca-Cola bottle are familiar trademarks.

Copyrights …
protect works of authorship, such as writings, music, and works of art that have been tangibly expressed. The Library of Congress registers copyrights which last for the life of the author plus 70 years. Gone With The Wind (the book and film), Back Street Boys’ recordings, and video games are all works that are copyrighted.

Trade Secrets …
are information that companies keep secret to give them an advantage over their competitors. The formula for Coca-Cola is the most famous trade secret.

Pacific World Marketing announced the distribution of The Clydesdale.

Pacific World Marketing, a product development and new product marketing firm, just announced the innovative saw horse know as the Clydesdale is available for immediate delivery.

Created by JP Custom Carpentry, a commercial and residential builder in the Midwest who realized how much time, money and material was being wasted at each job site to create a work station in preparing wood horses as well as scaffolding. And in some instances, even transporting equipment and materials can prove to add up quickly.
“The Clydesdale” offers alternatives to that method along with a wide range of capabilities that will reduce liability and minimize cost. Designed to provide the most cost effective, compact, re-useable tool to use on any size project!

The Clydesdale is very simple to set up as it has a center fold out hinged leg with rubber padded feet for surface stability and to protect finished flooring at inside jobs.
The Clydesdale will save you time and material from building heavy duty horses out of lumber in the field and be much more universal than the standard metal or plastic saw horses you see in other stores.
The “Clydesdale” complies with OSHA and all State and Federal rules and regulations pertaining to the construction industry and is now offered in (3) different heights. 24″ ~ 30″ ~ 36″

Because the Clydesdales are aluminum and the cross planks are wood, the length is adjustable. A long hinge attaches the third leg to the stand, and is secured in place with a pin that prevents it from inadvertently folding. When not in use, the third leg folds flat for convenient storages.

Unlike custom-built or purchased sawhorses, the Clydesdale doesn’t require assembly or reassembly to relocate or turn corners on the jobsite. A planking system utilizing two Clydesdales, at eight and a half pounds each is light enough to simply pick up like a bench and move.

The Clydesdale is available for immediate delivery.

What do our clients have to say

Glenn Newton – President

I couldn’t be happier with Ken and Pacific World Marketing. My product wasn’t getting the attention it needed and deserved. Ken jumped in with both feet and made things happen. I was in danger of losing some pretty big name accounts before I joined Pacific World Marketing. Ken made the right phone calls to the right people, arranged the important meetings and resurrected my accounts in a matter of weeks. Only someone with the expertise and utmost professionalism could have accomplished this. I have the best of both worlds with Pacific World Marketing, professionalism and aggressive marketing. I didn’t know much about Pacific World a year ago and Pacific World Marketing was one of those “right” decisions. Would I recommend Ken and Pacific World Marketing to a friend? You bet I would. Keep up the outstanding work… I appreciate it

Michael B, Inventor and Entrepreneur

Pacific World Marketing has the intelligence, training, experience, ability and knowledge. Ken and his team know how to get results. Pacific World Marketing has my product with three nationwide corporations. I could not be happier with the service. They deliver results. Thank you to the tam at Pacific World Marketing

Sue E. Inventor of the Multi Tier Baking Pan

Pacific World Marketing has helped make my dream come true. It is so exciting to hold a finished product in my hands. I patented a multi tier baking pan. Because of the manufacturing cost it was difficult to license the patent. After trying myself and a different marketing firm I signed with Pacific World Marketing. In less than I year the patent was licensed and is on the market and receiving royalties. Thanks to all the hard working people at Pacific World Marketing
